Willard B Tuck, 86, of Springfield passed away at 3:05 pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in the Willard Care Center. Willard, a retired Postal Service worker, was a longtime member of the Willard Lions Club and was recognized for his contribution to the Girls softball program. Willard is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Helen; a brother, Everett; and a sister, Virginia. Willard is survived by his wife, Ruby Dickson Tuck; sister Ruth Smith of St. George, UT; sons Gerald Tuck and wife, Gayle of Joplin, MO; Larry Tuck and wife, Janey of Springfield, MO; Gary Tuck and fiancée Delisa French of St. Louis, MO; daughter Rebecca Whetstine and husband, Billy of Kaufman, TX; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 PM Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton with a prayer service to follow at 7:30 PM. Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday September 16, 2011 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton with the Father Thomas Reidy celebrant under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Midwest ALS Association or Willard Lions Club.
