Yvette La Jean (West) Reese received her new name and her new home Wednesday, July 25, 2012 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her father, William Eugene West, grandfather, Wardell West and her daughter, Whitney. Yvette was a gifted beautician for over fifteen years serving St. Louis, Jefferson City and Springfield, Missouri. She loved and was dedicated to her work. She was a member of Acts of Praise Whole Life Ministries, where she was faithful every Sunday morning standing on her post as gatekeeper (usher). She loved getting her Praise on. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Reese; two sons, LeTroy West, Springfield, and Donte Reese, Springfield; a daughter, Sa Rai Reese, Springfield; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stafford, Springfield; four sisters, Rebekah L. Stafford, Springfield; Tracey Jones (David), Ohio; Patrice Hicks (Raymond), Florida; and Gerry Moore (Antony), Illinois; one brother, Gary J. Stafford (Lora), Springfield; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Duncan, Springfield; and Louise West, Joplin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends. Celebration services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Deliverance Temple, 2101 West Chestnut Expressway, Springfield, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
