IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yassa Youssef
Yassa
March 23, 1932 – February 14, 2024
Yassa Youssef Yassa, born on March 23, 1932, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and resided in Springfield, MO for the past 25 years.
He is survived by his son, Dr. Youssef Yassa, daughter, Dr. Aida Wisecup, daughter-in-law Yonga Yassa, son-in-law Jeff Wisecup, and grandchildren Edward Yassa, Dr. Kimberly Yassa, Dr. Daniel Yassa, Jenna Yassa, Sofie Hass, Tyler Wisecup, Alysa Wisecup, Tiffany Richardson, Hailey Richardson, and Tucker Wisecup, as well as great grandchildren, Oliver Yassa, Greyson Yassa, and Monroe Wisecup.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dr. Hadia Yassa, and dear granddaughter, Natalie Hass.
Yassa, also known by many as "Edward", lived a full life led by a central focus on serving the Lord through a heart for ministry and preaching. He never missed the opportunity to tell people about Jesus, whether he was in the hospital, at the mall, or shopping at Sam's Club, where literally every store employee knew him by name. He was a successful businessman and a life-long dedicated electrician. He helped all those in need and took people under his wings in many circumstances and experiences of hardship. He was truly a loving father and brother to many. In his early adulthood, he was a most well-known and adored professional soccer player in Alexandria, Egypt, leading his team as Captain, to a gold medal championship in 1962. As many know, one of his favorite things to do was feed people, and he was indeed one of the most talented chefs ever, cooking gourmet middle eastern dishes for all of us. His recipes, his contagious smile, his big personality, his memory, his legacy, and his love for everyone will live on forever in our hearts.
