IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wylie Robert
Comp, Jr.
October 4, 1943 – December 1, 2021
Wylie Comp was born October 4 th , 1943, to Bob and Mary Comp in Parsons, West Virginia.
Wylie is survived by his wife Joella, sons Daniel, Joshua and Aaron, daughter Catherine Wallace and her husband Peter, and his granddaughter Anna Wallace.
Wylie put his heart and soul into every endeavor in life. Be it the paper route he started at the age of eight; his early years of service in the Navy; a career in property development, planning and appraisal; several side jobs during many lean years; even employment after retirement working with Easter Seals – he approached each task and opportunity with determination and hope, regardless of the outcome. He adored his wife Joella (his vision in blue, he called her) and dearly loved each of his children.
In the midst of a very busy life, Wylie encountered the love of Jesus in a powerful way. Soon after, his greatest passion became sharing the gospel of Christ. The older he grew the more humbly he walked, saying he was by no means perfect but God in His grace had "perfectly saved" him. In fact, Wylie wrote a book called God Saved Me , encouraging people to share their faith in Christ. His last years were spent in ministry outreach and study.
Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
