IN LOVING MEMORY OF
"Wint"
Balmer
September 7, 1933 – July 22, 2020
Irvin "Wint" Balmer left this world for his heavenly home on July 22, 2020. He was born September 7, 1933 in Strafford, Missouri, and grew up in both Strafford and Springfield. As a young man he attended Auctioneer School in Iowa.
Irvin's faith was very important to him and in his later years he was a member of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. "Sonny" dearly loved his family, playing guitar and singing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and his many furry family members. His vocations included running a delivery service, owning and driving Yellow cabs, and working for Fellini-Mayfield Ford, selling what he considered the best cars ever made.
Irvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha; his daughter, Kelly Ann; parents John & Alta Balmer; sister Virginia Dale Pippin, and his twin brother who died shortly after birth. He is survived by nieces Patricia Bingham and Sue Pippin, and nephews Robert Pippin and Sam Pippin.
Burial will be at Hazelwood cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf funeral home, with a private graveside service at a later date.
