Wilma Matilda Goodale Buchanan Tuckness, 87, of Springfield was born on April 12, 1929 in Springfield. She was born to Emmett Leo and Nellie A. Davis Buchanan, the second of seven children.
She graduated from Strafford High School in 1946 as Valedictorian. She later attended Missouri State University over a period of years. She worked for a number of years as an office manager in both the dental and medical fields. Wilma was a longtime member of East Sunshine Church of Christ. She married her first husband, Charles Richard Goodale, Christmas Day of 1946. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1998. Together they owned and operated Goodale's Cleaners in Springfield. Wilma also operated the Book Worm in the Brentwood Center for several years. She later married Don Farris Tuckness, who preceded her in death on December 25, 2011. More recently, she enjoyed keeping up with friends and family on Facebook. Wilma will be loved forever and always by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and Gordon, Ray, and Charles Buchanan.
She is survived by her son, James Richard Goodale (Deborah); brother, Paul Wendell Buchanan; sisters, Lois Jones and Alice Serrano (Mel); grandchildren Gregory James Goodale (Cynarra) and Valerie Suzanne Goodale; and great-grandchildren Zoee Yanka, Elijah Goodale, Joshua Jefferson, and Isaac Kwaim-Goodale.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 2:30 pm at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Saturday at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fair Haven Children's Home, 3132 North Fair Haven Loop , Strafford, Missouri 65757.
