Wilma Pace, 78, of Mountain Grove, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in St. John's Regional Health Center. Wilma was the eldest of seven children. Wilma and Norman would have been married 60 years August 6, 2009. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Wilma loved her church, family and friends. She loved sports and was an athlete in younger days. Wilma, in her younger years, played fast pitch softball and had a "mean" fastball. She enjoyed bowling and golf. Wilma achieved to bowl many 300 games as well as shooting a hole in one at the Mountain Grove Municipal Golf Course. She was a member of First Christian Church of Mountain Grove, Mo. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Elise Johnson; and a sister, Hester Gooding. She is survived by three sisters, Norma Jean Ash, Republic, Mo., Helen Venter and husband, Ernie, Rogersville, Mo., and Velma Clinton, Caldwell, Idaho; two brothers, Lester Johnson and wife, Betty, Cassville, Mo., and Claude Johnson and wife, Wanda, Panoma, Mo.; two daughters, Karen Mattox and Ron Edwards, Springfield, Mo., and Karmen Pace, Liberty, Mo.; grandson Blake Pace, Liberty, Mo.; granddaughter Tracy (Pace) Hunt and husband, Aaron; and two great-grandsons, Rhys and Owyn Hunt, all of Parker, Colo. Memorial services will be held May 24, 2009, at 2 p.m., in First Christian Church, in Mountain Grove, Mo. Local arrangements were under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel.
