Ed was born on October 3, 1933, to Orville and Thelma Wagoner in Bloodland, MO. He died on March 23, 2014, surrounded by family, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy, his children Craig and Sharyn Wagoner, Chip and Jackie Wagoner, and Cristen and Brad Jones all of Springfield, his grandchildren Erin Wagoner, Ali and Dustin Rich, Matt Powell and Casey Garrison, Sarah Powell, Cory Wagoner, and Casey Wagoner. He is also survived by three great grandchildren, Luke and Dillon Rich and Jayda Powell. Ed grew up in and around Bois D'Arc and Morrisville, MO, among many cousins and friends. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1951 and attended Southwest Missouri State where he met and married Nancy Ament in 1953. After graduating from college in 1955, Ed enlisted in the Marine Corps. After completing Officer Training School in Quantico,VA, he served for 2 years at El Toro AFB in California. Ed always had an entrepreneurial spirit, beginning with trapping and selling rabbits, and selling milk and cream from his prized cows as a young boy, to owning and operating Brentwood Service Center until his retirement. He also owned and managed rental properties. After retirement his passion turned to traveling and antiquing, where he and Nan made many new friends across the country. He was never happier than when he was talking about and showing his antiques, but his greatest pride was his family. His favorite times were trips with the family and family gatherings. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. A celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 11 am at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church.
