William L. Hinz (Bill), 86, Springfield, Missouri passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 in St. John's Regional Health Center. He was born May 14, 1923 in Green Bay, WI to William F. and Martha Hinz. Bill was a Professor of Design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for thirty-eight years. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and a survivor of the Battle of The Bulge. Bill was preceded in death by his parents He is survived by his wife, Jay, a son, Peter Hinz, a daughter, Jan Hinz Graveside services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, July 14, 2009 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Spalding, King's Way United Methodist Church, officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. The family prefers to celebrate life rather than mourn death. They request that no flowers or memorial contributions be sent. If friends and family members wish, the family requests that they send a card with a remembrance of what Bill's life meant to them.
