William (Bill) H. Davidson, age 91, passed away peacefully in Springfield, Missouri on August 31, 2024. Bill was born on August 24, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri, to William and Edith Davidson. In 1950, he went to work for Frisco-Burlington Northern Railroad where he spent his whole career. On August 30, 1952, he married the love of his life, Millie Wolfe. They had 4 children together. The family moved to Springfield in 1964 where he managed computer operations for the Frisco Railroad.
Bill was a long-time, active member of the First Baptist Church, Springfield, MO. He was a Deacon, Trustee and active in the Missions program. Bill was also an active member in the Springfield Chapter of Kiwanis Club, as well as Giddeon's International for many years.
Bill was a Christian first and foremost. He was a true and loving family man and a trusted friend to so many. He was blessed with many lifelong friends that he enjoyed traveling with. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Mable Simpson and Sally Evers. He is survived by his wife, Millie of 72 years; children, Connie George, Springfield Mo; Carla Nibert (Steve) Kimberling City, Mo; Cheryl Mathis (David)Omaha Nebraska and Bill Davidson (Sandy)Branson West Mo. He is survived by 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many, many wonderful friends.
Visitation will be from 11:30 -1pm Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. Services will follow at 1PM. Arrangements have been made by Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Springfield Chapter of Kiwanis.
