William "Bill" Cass Jeffries passed away at Mercy Hospital on January 9 th , 2021 at the age of 69. Bill was surrounded by members of his family. Bill was born September 2, 1951 to Cecil M. and Mary E. Jeffries in Cassville, MO. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy Jeffries.
Bill graduated with his Bachelors in 1974 from Drury University and his Masters in History in 1984 from Southwest Missouri State University. Bill enjoyed learning and sharing with others his passion for history and English. He served 25 years teaching at Strafford, Parkview, and Glendale High Schools. Bill was very active from junior high to his college years in school sports including: track, football, wrestling, and pole-vaulting. Bill continued his passion for sports into his academic career as a coach at both Strafford and Parkview High.
Some of Bill's hobbies included reading books and making models of warships, military aircraft, and tanks. He had a particular fascination for military history, especially naval history of the twentieth century. Bill also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking in the woods, and appreciating nature.
Bill is survived by his wife Jane Jeffries, their two children: Jill Fulks, her husband Ricky Fulks and their daughter Alivia Fulks, and John Jeffries and his wife Shannon Jeffries. Bill is also survived by his brother Jim Jeffries and his family and his aunt Juanita McConnell and her family.
A visitation will be held at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home on Monday, January 18 th from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Semper Fi & America's Fund, 825 College Blvd, Suite 102 PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057; Gift of Life Transplant House, 705 Second Street Southwest, Rochester, MN 55902; or organization of donor's choice.
