Obituary

William P. (Bill) Davis, age 74 of Springfield, MO, passed away June 13th, 2018, from a brief illness. He was born in West Plains, MO, April  22,1944, to the late Jean and Dean Davis. He was preceded in death, by the mother of his children, Diane Davis, and his son, Matthew S. Davis.

Bill attended school in West Plains, MO, and at the University of Florida and as all his friends knew he was an AVID Florida Gators fan. Bill returned to Springfield where he graduated from MSU, where he was instrumental in establishing the Sigma Chi Chapter.

Bill had a big life, big heart and knew how to have a good time.  Bill was generous to all his loved ones. His smile could light up a room as he brought joy to those who were lucky enough to know him. Bill enjoyed his many friendships he developed at Twin Oaks Country Club, Royal Order of Jesters, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine of which he was a member of the White Mustang Unit, and Elks Lodge 409.

Bill's career included teaching at West Plains, MO, and years as a Salesman where he was awarded many Best Sales Awards, and if you knew Bill you knew that he could sell ice to an Eskimo! At the time of his passing Bill owned Bill Davis Homes and Rentals, a business that he thoroughly enjoyed.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Lois, his twin children, Michael Kyle Davis of Springfield, Keri Davis Hess (Peter) and their son John William (Will), of Huntington, VT.  Lois's children, Greg Blair (Teresa), Bryan Blair, of Springfield and Greg's sons, Geoff and Tyler Blair, extended family, his special cousin Deana (Morley) Golden of Sun Valley, Idaho, and her children, Hollyn and Brinkley, Dale Roper (Shirley), Becky Farmer, Jeri and Sue Roper, Jana (Mike) Setzer and families, Deborah Davila and her son Issac.

Cremation is under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Bill's ashes will be spread at the beloved family River Cabin in West Plains, MO where he spent many fun times as a youth and as an adult partying with friends.

A Celebration of Life will be at the Elks Lodge 409, at 2223 E Bennett, Springfield, MO on Sunday June 17th from 5 -7 pm.   In lieu of flowers the family requests that you donate to your favorite charity of choice in Bill Davis's name.
