Obituary

William Albert ("Bill") BeSore, age 80, departed this life on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his home in Springfield, Missouri, with his wife of 59 years, Annina, by his side.

Bill was born on June 23, 1943, to William J. and Honor K. BeSore (Prentice) at the family home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Bill served in the United States Air Force as part of the United States Air Force Security Service.  He spent 30 years as a financial officer in the Farm Credit System, occupying positions which moved him from Council Bluffs, Iowa, to St. Louis, Missouri; Denver, Colorado; Kansas City, Missouri; and St. Paul, Minnesota.  Bill retired from the Farm Credit System in 1998.  Upon retirement, Bill and Annina moved to Springfield, Missouri.

Outside of work, Bill always found something interesting in which to involve himself and his family. He was a past Master of the Masonic Lodge in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He participated actively in the churches they attended wherever they lived by singing in the choir and serving as a Senior Warden, Vestry member, Assistant Treasurer, information technology manager, lay reader, Eucharistic Visitor, Chalice Bearer, and as a member of the Stewardship Committee.

Whenever Bill picked up a hobby, he took it up in full.  When he started playing golf, he also started building golf clubs.  When he took up shooting, he also made ammunition.  A Ham radio operator for nearly his entire adult life, he built numerous pieces of radio equipment and made countless friends and acquaintances from all over the world.

Bill loved music of all varieties.  In the car, he listened to classical music.  In the 1970's he became interested in bluegrass and old-time music and joined two (2) different music clubs in Nebraska.  He taught himself to play the banjo. He built hammered dulcimers and mountain dulcimers, put instruments in the hands of his children, and, joined by Annina (a talented pianist and singer in her own right who taught herself the hammered dulcimer) formed a family band that played at various events in the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. He was a proficient drummer and enjoyed participating in several drum corps and pipe band organizations.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by infant twin sisters, Sharon Kay and Karen Rae. He is survived by his wife, Annina K. BeSore (Jensen); son, Kort and his wife, Amanda, and grandchildren Ana BeSore Chavez (husband Eric Chavez), Grace BeSore, and Kyle BeSore; son Marty and his wife, Karie, and grandchildren Nicholas BeSore (wife Brenna BeSore) and Jacob BeSore; son, Robert and his wife Kristie, and grandchildren Jordan BeSore, Joe BeSore, and Samantha BeSore; his brother Prentice ("Prenty") BeSore and sister-in-law, Judy BeSore; and many other family members and friends.
