Wilburn Stanley (Burr) Taylor, D.Min., 89, of Ozark, MO, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening September 26, 2018. He was married to Carolyn Trapp Taylor for over 64 years. They met while he was pastor and she was the church pianist in Chase, LA. He was born April 16, 1929 in West Monroe, LA, to Rosalie Andrews Taylor and Robert Leonard Taylor Sr. He was a graduate of Ouachita High School, Louisiana College and attended New Orleans Seminary before receiving his Doctorate of Ministry degree from Midwestern Baptist Seminary in Kansas City, MO. He was an ordained Southern Baptist Minister and preached for 66 years starting at the age of 18.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert Leonard Taylor Jr. and Joseph Edwin Taylor. He is survived by his wife; daughters Evelyn Ruth Norrell, Ozark, MO and Laura Ellen Taylor, St. Joseph, MO and son, Glen Stanley Taylor, San Marcos, CA; four grandchildren, Ben Norrell, Luke Norrell, Jennifer Adams and Maggie Sweeney, and three great-grandchildren, Jake, Cady and Ellie Norrell.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday September 30, 2018, at Hasley Cemetery, Arkansas Road, West Monroe, LA, with Jimmy Lee Eppinette and Dave Cimino officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Samaritans Purse ( samaritanspurse.org ).
