Obituary

Whitney Leigh Hampton was born on March 6, 1987 and passed away on April 1, 2020.  Whitney was the embodiment of happiness.  Her light shined bright everywhere she went.

Whitney was happiest when she was spending time with her family.  She was proud to be a mom, wife, and homemaker.  She thought the sun rose and set on her husband and kids.  On any given day you could find her outside shooting bows with Cody and Hunter or practicing makeup and hair with Hayden and Haylie.  While Cody might deny it, Whitney was an accomplished fisherwoman and oftentimes would out-fish him and the kids.  Cody may have hunted his entire life, but Whitney still holds the family record for big buck down.  She could hunt as well as she could fish, but she loved getting dressed up too.  Whitney would put on a dress, do her make-up and hair, and look absolutely stunning.  Whether she was in camo and boots or a dress and heals, Whitney was beautiful inside and out.  Because of her love for all animals, it wasn't uncommon for their home to resemble a small farm.

The memories of Whitney will carry on through everyone who knew her.  Her smile, big heart, caring nature, and innate ability to light up a room won't be forgotten.  Whitney didn't know a stranger and could make you feel special with every conversation or encounter.  She always made sure those who were special to her knew it.  Whitney shared her love freely, abundantly, and completely.

Whitney is survived by her childhood sweetheart, best friend, and husband Cody; her three children, Hunter, Hayden, and Haylie; sisters, Jessica Clay, Jurni Howell, and Kristy Clay; brother Trey Kitchens; dad Jeff and his wife Sarah Clay; mother, Tracy Howell; grandma Nita Stapp; grandma Loretta Clay; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members; and countless friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at Harmony Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, June 6, 2020 from 1:00-4:00 PM.  Whitney loved Pot Luck Dinners so bring your favorite dish and come celebrate Whitney's life.
