Weymeth Stipp, age 79 of Springfield passed away at 11:00am August 29, 2018 surrounded by family.  He was born August 31, 1938 in Stark City, Missouri to Uhlan and Virginia (Patton) Stipp, graduated from Midway High School and earned a BS in Agriculture at University of Missouri, Columbia.  He was married to Carolyn Harris Stipp for 56 years; they had three children.  After relocating to Springfield from Kansas City, Weymeth was Plant Manager at Foremost Foods, Food & Beverage Manager at Texo Corporation and for the past 17 years worked in Quality Assurance at Hiland Dairy.

Weymeth was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, an avid golfer and loved St. Louis/Springfield Cardinals and Mizzou sports.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons who adored their Papa/Pops.  He greeted everyone with a firm handshake and a smile that lit up the room.

Weymeth is preceded in death by his parents, Uhlan and Virginia Stipp; and his sister, Patsy Stufflebeam.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stipp of Springfield; sons, Kevin (Susan) of Springfield and Tim of Nixa; daughter, Debbie Webb (Gregg) of West Palm Beach, FL; grandsons, Jake and Josh Stipp, Austin and Tyler Webb; and his sister, Colene Frencken (Eugene) of Stark City.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Wesley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Megan Winget officiating under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm September 7, 2018 in the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Mayo Cancer Research, Department of Development, Mayo Clinic, 200 First St. S.W., Rochester, MN 55905 or mayoclinic.org.
