Wesley D. Lord, 72, Springfield, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015. He was born September 18, 1943 in Springfield, the son of William R. and Virginia Fay (Fly) Lord. Wesley was united in marriage to Gerry Lee Humbert on November 23, 1967 in San Diego, CA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Wesley was a strong guide for this children and has ensured their virtues and success. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gerry and their son, Mark Wayne Lord. He is survived by three children, Charles W. Lord and wife, Patty; Dale Lord and wife, Nancy; and Michelle Wadkins and husband, James; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. Graveside services will full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Brad Smith officiating, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Queen City Council of the Blind, 3234 South Dayton Avenue, Springfield, MO 65807.
