Obituary

Warren Jay Vinson, 80, devoted husband and loving father passed away on Tuesday, November 15 surrounded by his family. Warren was born on December 19, 1930 to Raymond and Bernice Vinson. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1949 and proudly served his country during the Korean War. He retired from Kraft Foods in 1988 after logging countless miles delivering products to restaurants, schools and stores all over the country. Warren loved being on the road, witnessing nature's beauty and the solitude that engulfed him. Those who had the pleasure of loving him will never forget the feeling and dedication he held for his family. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mary Margaret Dunaway-Vinson; both parents Ray and Bernice and brother Ron. He leaves behind two sons, Buford and wife Paula, Loren and wife Christy and two daughters, Barbara Jane Dickenson and Cathy Gaw and husband James. He is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 11-12pm Friday, November 18 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Graveside service, with full military honors, will follow at Maple Park Cemetery at 12:30pm. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made in his honor to the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the staff for the care, respect and friendship shown to our father.
