Warren E. Dickens, 85, lifelong resident of Springfield, MO passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Warren was born in July 22, 1927 to Pearl and Doris Samuels Dickens. Warren served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was stationed in Guam, and also served in the Korean Conflict. Warren married Leona Mae "Peggy" Eaton on December 11, 1946. Warren was a 40 year employee of the Frisco Railroad, and also worked for Webster Oil and Gas. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge where he was a Master Mason, and the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple where he was a part of the clowns. He was also a member of Twin Oaks Country Club. Warren was preceded in death his parents, and a brother, Vincel Dickens. Warren is survived by his wife, Peggy; one sister, Geraldine Tyler (Ron) of Colusa, CA; a sister in law, Carol Ann Dickens of Colusa, CA; several nieces and nephews; and good friends Joe Byrnes and Frank Flowers and their families. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:30 a.m. in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will be at the conclusion of the funeral service. Burial with full military honors will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
