Obituary

Warner L. Wilson passed away on September 1, 2022, at 4:14 PM.

Warner was born on September 17, 1933, in Aurora, MO, the son of Gene and Laura (Craker) Wilson who have preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Linda (Greer) Wilson on June 11, 1954. Warner lost Linda on August 7, 2012, after 58 years of a joyful marriage.

Warner is survived by a son, David and his wife Lori, Clearwater, FL and Granddaughter Leah, Overland Park, KS, a son Stephen  and his wife Karen, Brick, NJ, Granddaughter Laura and her fiancé Chris Hanlon, Plainsboro, NJ, Grandson Michael, Brick, NJ, and Great Grandson Asher. He is also survived by a brother, Gary, Springfield, MO, a brother Max and his wife Judy, Topeka, KS, a sister-in-law Jane Fish and her husband Robert, Johnson City, TN.

Warner grew up in Aurora, MO, attended high school where he was an outstanding athlete having lettered in football, basketball, track, and golf. He was the medalist at the 1951 Big 8 Golf Tournament. The pursuit of his vocation as a Baptist minister led him to prepare for his career at Southwest Baptist Junior College, William Jewell College, and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. For 26 years he was a pastor of Baptist churches in Missouri, Indiana, and New Jersey. He concluded his vocational career by serving as a social services supervisor at OACAC.
