Obituary

Our beautiful Mother, Wanda Ilene Parsons age, 88 of Springfield, MO went to meet Jesus at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, February 22nd.

Wanda was born to William and Onata McDaniel on April 16, 1929 in Memphis, Mo. Wanda was the fifth of seven children. Mom started working in 1945 at Mountain Bell in Colorado Springs, CO, as a telephone operator. We moved to Springfield in 1952 and mom was one of the first employed at Lily Tulip, where she worked for 16 years. She retired at 64 from RT French. She was also a member of the Golden Avenue Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents WA and Onata McDaniel, two brothers, Garold and Harold McDaniel, three sisters, M. Geraldine, Lucille and Mildred. Also, her husband Fred G. Parsons.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Davis and husband James C. Davis, sons Stephen Leon Partin and wife Pamela June, Jim D. Parsons and wife Tracy. One sister Sylvia Brite of Casper, WY. Two Grandchildren Amy Shelton and Seth Shelton, grandson Craig Alan and wife Lora Partin. Four great grandchildren Zane Alan and Daxton Anthony Partin, Cameron Shelton and wife Kayla, and Triston Shelton. Also her beloved dog, Chinska, many friends, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018. Service will be held at 1 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with reverends Keith Garrison and Dick Bishop officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
