Obituary

Wanda Hazel Evermon, 88, departed this life into the hands of her savior at Mercy Villa on April 29, 2011. She was born in Springfield, Missouri August 10, 1922 the daughter of Robert A. Smith and Olive Mae Brumley Smith. She was united in marriage to Paul A. Evermon August 4, 1940. Wanda was a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She was a member of Hopedale Baptist Church in Ozark. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Paul, sister; Delma Branson, two brothers; Robert and Wesley Smith and granddaughter; Carrie Kennedy. Wanda is survived by her children and their spouses; Carol and Steve Gaskill, Barbara and Larry Smith, Paul II and Nancy Evermon, and Donna and David Kennedy. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Park Cemetery. The family expresses their gratitude and thanks to the staffs of St. John's Hospice and Mercy Villa for the kind and compassionate care that was given to Wanda during her last days on earth.
