Wanda Lee Climer of Springfield, MO passed away on September 27, 2014, after a two year battle with cancer that she fought with humor and determination. She was born October 21, 1946 in Springfield, MO to Addie M. Smith and Lloyd J. Melton. Wanda graduated from Central High School, Springfield, MO in 1964. She spent the last 40 years of her working career at Solid State Circuits and Burrell Behavioral Health. Survivors include two children; a daughter, Donara Marler and a son, Bryan Climer and wife Jennifer, all of Springfield, MO; three grandchildren, her uncle Bill Deadrick, St. Louis, MO, her uncle Frank Smith, Springfield, MO and many friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-parents Louise Melton and Eldon Leon "Lonnie" Sparkman, an uncle, Charles Smith and aunt Della Deadrick, St. Louis, MO. Memorial services will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, October 2, 2014 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. A visitation will precede the service from 5 to 6 PM. Private burial will be at a later date in Rock Prairie Cemetery near Halltown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Compassus, 1465 E. Primrose, Springfield, MO 65804.
