Wallace Wayne Burns, age 84 passed away November 17th, 2022 around 5 AM in Joplin, MO.

Wallace was born May 31st, 1938 in Grove Springs, MO to Omer & Eunice Burns. He was raised in a loving home with his 7 brothers & 2 sisters.

On July 18th, 1958 he married the love of his life, Joyce Owen in Springfield, MO. They shared a special love for almost 64 years. They had 3 beautiful daughters, JoLeesa, Teresa & Vivian that he loved very much. He also had a special love for all his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.

He worked at VW as a mechanic in Springfield & was sent to St Louis to learn how to work on ac units & returned to Springfield to open & train the mechanics on the ac units, it was a honor to Dad to be selected because they recognized him as the best & most honest mechanic they had & knew he would represent them well. He did this because it is what he loved to do. He never lost his love of cars. He also worked @ Sweetheart for years & retired from there.

He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce, his parents Omer & Eunice Burns, 4 brothers Donald, James, Ronald, & Gary Burns. His daughter JoLeesa Harmon & his granddaughter Charity Hissink.

He is survived by his daughters Teresa Carter(Mark), & Vivian Mooney(Mike) both of Springfield. His brothers & sisters, Gerald(Pat)Burns, Omer Ray Burns, Darrell(Linda) Burns, Wanda Wilson, & Brenda(John) Jeffries. His grandchildren Merle(Becky) Harmon, Leesa(Kris) Taylor, MaKaylla Harris, Nathan(Dereck) Johnson, MerLeesa(Robert) Cavin, & Alan Gookin, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.

Services will be Monday, November 28th, 2022. Visitation is at 10 AM & Service at 11AM at North Side Assembly of God, 2310 N. Campbell, Springfield, MO 65803 with burial at 1PM at the Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road Springfield, MO 65804.
