IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wade W.
Warren
March 13, 1953 – December 11, 2023
Wade Windsor Warren of Springfield, Missouri died on December 11th, 2023 at the age of 70.
Wade was born on March 13th, 1953 in Springfield, Missouri where he grew up attending First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. From a young age, Wade valued academics and a job well done. He was studious and his discipline allowed him to keep his eyes on the end goal. Whether it was the honor's society, playing the saxophone in the marching band, swimming competitively, or becoming an Eagle Scout, Wade's drive and determination meant he had many accolades attached to his name. After graduating from Glendale High School in 1971, Wade went on to attend Drury University to receive his undergraduate degree, and then he went on to attend University of Missouri- Kansas City to receive his doctorate of dentistry in 1980. After three decades, Wade's admirable qualities helped him to retire having had a successful career as a dentist.
Wade married Susie Andrus in 1993, and she remained a loving, devoted wife. They built their life together in Springfield, but they enjoyed traveling throughout the years. With some of their fondest memories being at tropical destinations, it's no surprise that Table Rock Lake became an extension of Wade's home. It was there that he spent many hours flinging his girls, Summer and Hannah, around on the tube leaving them with lots of smiles and chaffed chins. And it was there that Will learned how to drive the runabout boat and before that learned the valuable lesson of letting the ski rope go once you fall. The reasons for going to the lake evolved with his life, but no matter the circumstance, it remained a space where he welcomed and encouraged others to slow down, rest, rejuvenate, and enjoy some of his middle school-aged humor.
Wade had many hobbies that stuck with him over the years. In addition to lake living, Wade's appreciation for history and his dedication to seeing something through meant he kept up with several collections that he had started as a little boy. As time passed, toilet paper aficionado and master chef became another one of his endearing qualities. The story behind his framed collection of European toilet paper brought joy to others, and his beer butt chicken and smoked meats became a crowd favorite.
However, the hobby that surprised us all was his interest in decorating for the holidays. Between the thousands of lights covering his house for Christmas, the human-sized Halloween animatronics stashed in nearly every closet, and the hand painted ostrich eggs, Wade knew how to make an inviting atmosphere. Be it a family meal, a local charitable fundraiser, a team building opportunity with colleagues, or a poker night with the guys, Wade found importance in bringing people together.
He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Barbara L Warren, and father, Glenn "Windsor" Warren. He is survived by his wife Susie Warren, daughters Summer Larson (Jeremy) & Hannah Brown (Mike), step-son William Albrecht (Kim), mother and Barbara J Warren, brothers Weber Warren & Walter Warren, sister Jeanne Stanchik (Jake), grandchildren Tucker, Tennessee, Finnley, & Sutton Larson and Graham & Mallory Brown and Cameron, Ellaya, Lily, Darrell, Mia, Freya, & Rayna Marie Albrecht, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Service will be held at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home Saturday, December 16th at 10am. Followed by Celebration of Life at Pappy's Barbeque at noon.
