IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wade Wilson
Perkins
May 28, 1969 – February 4, 2023
Wade Wilson Perkins was born May 28, 1969, to Wade & Rachel Benson Perkins in Springhill, Louisiana.
Wade graduated from Bastrop, LA High School and attended University of LA at Monroe. He played one season with the AAA Cincinnati Reds baseball team, but an injury stopped his career.
Wade worked for SonRays Service Center for over 20 years. He was loved by many customers he worked for. He always greeted his customers by Mr. or Mrs. and knew everyone by name.
Wade was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sports enthusiast. His competitive nature and unwillingness to quit drove his desire to defeat the cancer that attacked his body. But, he was not willing to share his hot hunting or fishing spots.
Wade and Amy were united in marriage April 6, 2002. They blended a family with four children. The following year, they welcomed their fifth child, Jackson Wade Perkins.
Wade courageously fought a battle with cancer. His final chapter was one of making memories & new adventures with his beloved wife, Amy, & his sons Alex & Jackson. This journey was not one we chose to make, but by God's grace & favor we were able to cherish the time we had together. That journey was completed on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Wade was a true warrior. His gift was sharing hope and love with everyone he met, and his love for Jesus was unwavering. Wade was a member of The Crossing Church, which he attended as long as his health permitted.
Wade is survived by his wife, Amy Ducker; his sons, Jackson Perkins and Alex Spencer; three daughters, Samantha Perkins, Hope Ducker and Holly (Eddie) Reuscher. He and Amy are blessed with five grandchildren: Noah, Bodhi, Micah, Gabe, and Lincoln. Also surviving are his father, Wade Perkins; brother, Marty (Tina) Perkins and their children, Dillon Perkins and Bailey (Brent) Stevens; sister, Karen Lebrun and her sons, Josh and Jake; father and mother-in-law, Jack and Darlene Ducker; brother-in-law, Richard (Kim) Ducker and their children, Shawn, Nick (Abby), Quentin, and Mya; sister-in-law, DeLayna (Rob) Guy and their children, KayeLeigh, Kayson & Keeley, and sister-in-law, Kamryn Ducker; along with many great-nieces and a nephew. Last, but not least, he's survived by his devoted companions his cat, Sox, and his dog, Ewok.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Rachel, and baby brother Anthony.
