Vutan (Barnes) Wilkinson, a life-long resident of the Marshfield-Springfield area, passed away June 21, 2014. She was born in Marshfield, Mo, Aug. 29, 1917, to Stanley and Emma Edwards. She lived her life enjoying family and friends, her membership in Boulevard Baptist Church, her service to Meals-on Wheels, Pilot Club projects, travel, flower gardening and caring for her dog. She will be most remembered as a quiet, gentle, and resilient lady who enjoyed the home and land she cared for over 60 years. Vutan married the late Lee Barnes in 1936, and they lived together for thirty-six years. She is survived by their son, Clayton Barnes and wife, Norma, and grandson, Vincen Barnes, his wife, Raymonda, their children, Brooke, Tanner and Parker. In 1989 she married the late Stephen Wilkinson and she is survived by two stepsons, two step daughters, and their families Her surviving step sons are Pete Wilkinson and wife Karen, Jim Wilkinson and wife, Darcy. Surviving step daughters are Stephanie McCroskey and her husband, Don,Trudy Wilkinson-Flick and her husband, Gregory. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
