VIRGINIA CLEMENT SHEPPARD Virginia Clement Sheppard passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, following a brief illness at Mercy Hospital, Springfield. She was born March 26, 1929, in Monett, Missouri, to W.O and Jewell Clement. She was united in marriage to James L. Sheppard on March 23, 1947, and they were blessed with two sons, Steve and Dennis. She enjoyed travel and cruising, her bridge groups, Bears and Lady Bears basketball, reading and excursions to Branson. In 1963, her husband, Jim and Jim Noggle founded the business that became Sheppard Supply Co. Virginia was his business partner for 40 years prior to Jim's death in 2002. Virginia graduated from Springfield (Central) High School in 1946 and attended Missouri State University where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She is survived by two sons: Steve and wife, Peggy, and Dennis and wife, Kathy, all of Springfield; six grandchildren: Chelsea Sheppard Schwent and husband, Bryan, Richmond, Virginia; Kelli Sheppard Schwartz and her husband, Mitchell, Richmond, Virginia; Erin Sheppard Malloy and her husband, Nick, Springfield; and Alex Sheppard, Springfield; James Brandon Wooden and his wife, Brandy, Pineville; and Shannon Wooden and her husband, Ken Gillam, Springfield; six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a host of nephews, nieces and friends;a brother-in-law, Donald Sheppard, and wife, Beverly, of Willard; and a sister-in-law, Jewell Dick, Springfield. Her husband, James, and her parents preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2014, at the Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
