Virginia Lucille Self, 97, of Springfield, MO died of natural causes March 19, 2015. Virginia was born in Faribault, MN and spent her early years in St. Louis where she worked for the Frisco Railroad before marriage. She was an avid traveler, with her first husband and later her son, Nelson, and had enjoyed many trips throughout the US, Canada, Caribbean and Europe. Virginia was the wife of Harry Self, Sr. (deceased) and Walter Juenger (deceased). She is survived by her four children, Harry Self, Jr. (wife Glenda) of Overland Park, KS, Bette Burrow (husband Tony) of Salem, OR, Nelson Self of Springfield, MO and Patty Katzfey of St. Louis, MO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Friday, March 27, 2015 in the funeral home with burial to follow in Hazelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's Association, 1630 W.
