Virginia "Jenny" Cruse

Jenny was born here in Springfield, Missouri to Marvin and Virginia Courtois on August 13, 1940, and passed away on April 13, 2024.

Jenny was united in marriage to the love of her life, Bill Cruse, on February 3, 1962.

Jenny was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and soon to be great-grandmother.

In 1970, Jenny was saved and baptized while attending Glendale Baptist Church here in Springfield, Missouri. She knew heaven was waiting for her one day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Cruse, her parents, Marvin and Virginia Courtois, her sister, Carolyn Woods, and her brother Charles Courtois.

She is survived by her two sisters, Annabelle Savage and Sharon Mount, and her husband Dennis Mount; three daughters Cheryl Weston and her husband, John Weston, Teresa Brown and her husband Michael Brown, and Susan Inman and her husband Tony Inman; and her grandchildren, Travis Weston and his wife Ashley Weston, Matthew Weston and his wife Samantha Weston, Taylor Brown, Eric Brown, Emily Brown, and Joshua Inman.

Jenny's hobbies included crocheting, cooking, working puzzles, metal detecting and watching movies. Jenny attended church at Briar Street Baptist Church and sewed quilts with the friends that she had there. She worked at Mercy Hospital for 15 years as a Diet Clerk, retiring in 2005. Her greatest passion was ensuring a warm and loving home where her husband, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren could build wonderful memories together. Her love language was gifts, most usually in the form of food.

Jenny will be deeply missed by her family, and friends while she happily waits in heaven for us to reunite with her forever one day.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
