Virginia Louise (Clark) Gambriel (69), lifelong resident of Pleasant Hope, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Northwood Hills Nursing Home in Humansville, Missouri.
Virginia was born on Wednesday, February 5, 1947 in Fair Grove, Missouri. She was the first of 5 children born to Alvin and Virginia (Tindle) Clark. Virginia grew up much like Laura Ingalls Wilder, running wild in 80 acres of woods. Virginia started reading at a very young age and would read anything and everything she could get a hold of. Virginia started at Pleasant Hope Schools in the early 1950's and graduated in May, 1965. Virginia married Billy Franklin Gambriel on November 14, 1965. Together they raised 7 children on the very place Virginia had grown up on. She was a full time mother and homemaker.
Virginia is survived by 7 children; son Billy Clark Gambriel of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, daughter Jennifer Louise Kennedy and her husband Terry of Lagrange, Indiana, daughter Julia Lynette Guthrie and her husband Kevin of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, daughter Janet Leann Hall of Corpus Christi, Texas, son Brady Franklin Gambriel of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, daughter Andrea Rosemarie Creasy and her husband Tyler of Springfield, Missouri, and son Alvin Joseph Gambriel of Pleasant Hope. 16 grandchildren; Christina Dawn Gambriel, Billy "Clark" Gambriel, Christalyn Sueann Gambriel Ingino, Blake "Cordale" Gambriel, Kirk Allen Kennedy, Justin Lee Kennedy, Nathanael Michael Kennedy, Jillian Lynette Guthrie, Jevin Edward Guthrie, Almanzo Grant Hall, Amelia Grace Hall, Anthony Daniel Hall, Justus Saber Gambriel, Braxton Skyler Gambriel, Elijah Sterling Gambriel, and Heston Stone Gambriel. 2 great-grandchildren; Mya Tieshay Heflin and Kameron Alexander Bies.
She is also survived by her mother, Virginia Lee (Tindle) Clark, sisters, Mary (late, Donnie) Yarberry, Nellie (Gary) Manes, Carolyn (Donny) Blehm and brother, Daniel (Sarah) Clark. She is also survived by brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy Franklin Gambriel on January 26, 2000, several pre-term grandbabies, her father, Alvin Byron Clark, one brother, Paul David Clark and brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws.
Services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E Seminole, Springfield, MO 65804 with Pastor Phillip Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Virginia loved life, music, and family. She had overcome things that were huge but she never let her faith waver, even for a minute. She will be greatly missed.
