Virginia L. Benassi was born in Baltimore, MD January 1, 1948 and passed away July 9, 2016 after a short illness.

As a teenager, Virginia sang in her church choir.

She was employed in the past by Cox Medical Center South, Marantha Village and Kimbrough Nursing Home. She loved working in Nursing as a CNA. Virginia gave love and affection to those she cared for.

Virginia is survived by her sons, James E. Williamson and Jeremy D. Benassi and her husband David Benassi of 28 years.

With the recent events, she was cared for by employees of Cox South and Meyer Orthopedic Rehab Hospital. To the employees and staff of both hospitals her family would like to offer heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the care and comfort they provided her. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family as she went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Hazelwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Miracle Network.
