Virgil J. Schroeder, 88, of Springfield, MO, formerly of Carroll, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in Cox South Hospital. He was an army veteran from World War II and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Virgil is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Springfield, MO; Sons Terry and wife Debra of Maple Grove, MN; Doug and wife Mary of Omaha, NE; Randy of Springfield, MO; Mark and wife Sylvia of Buda, TX; Craig and wife Judy of Springfield, MO; David and wife Ellen of New York, NY; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 21 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Father Fergus Monaghan Celebrant under the direction of the Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. Burial will be Saturday in Carroll, Iowa in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10a.m. Friday in the church.
