Vicky "Jo" Kennell passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the age of 71 years. She battled the effects of a heart attack and numerous strokes for over a year.

Special thanks to our cousin Glenna Johnson, who was a friend throughout her last years and her stay at the hospital and nursing home.

She was born July 29, 1952, in Greene County, Missouri to Ray and Vivien (Johnson) Pyle.

She graduated from Ash Grove High School and later learned sign language, using it wherever her travels took her. She was a talented artist, whose favorite pastimes were reading and drawing. Jo had a special place in her heart for all animals, especially horses and dogs, having animals all of her life.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jack Kennell.

She is survived by two sons, Travis and Terrance Kennell and their families; sister, Patsy Aton (Tom) of Bois D'Arc and their family, grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

We appreciate her friend John Schofield and family for graciously giving her dog a loving home.

We will have an informal get-together with snacks to share lots of old and new stories on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Sycamore School House (Sycamore Community Center) in Lawrence County, MO, near Chesapeake (Hwy 174 and Hwy O).

Private burial has been arranged.
