Vesta P. Schmiedeke, age 94, passed away April 25, 2018.  Vesta was born February 24, 1924, the second of four children to Roy N. and Leona G. Hibler in Steelville, MO.

She was united in marriage to Harold C. Schmiedeke on June 1, 1946 and to this union one daughter, Patricia Ann, was born.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, her parents, her husband, one brother, Ralph and one sister, Velma.

Vesta is survived by one sister, Reba Gamboa; granddaughter, Meredith Bosso; grandson, Miles Bosso; son-in-law, David Bosso; and several nieces and nephews.

After moving to Springfield in 1991, she became a member of First Baptist Church.

Vesta had a teaching career of thirty-four years, retiring in 1987.

A visitation and funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Victor Baptist Church, Anutt, MO, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the service at Victor Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Victor Cemetery, 20723 Dent Highway C, Rolla, MO 65401.
