Obituary

Vern Lee Niederhuth, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Cox South Hospital. He was the son of George and Ella Niederhuth and one of nine siblings. After serving with the Navy in World War II, he attended MSU. He was self-employed as an Interior Designer. Vern was an active lifelong member of First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers John, Allyn, Virgil, Leland, Weldon and Curtis, and one sister Gladys Cheffey. Vern is survived by his sister Hazel Ryker of Springfield and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Hazelwood Cemetery with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at First & Calvary Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
