Vera Maxine Collis, age 95, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. Vera was the daughter of Ray and Maggie Sullins. She was born on November 3, 1929, in Plato Missouri. Maxine would go on to raise a family, and work as a secretary at Occidental Insurance Company. She was a long-time member of Glendale Baptist Church.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Clifford E. Collis; her parents, Ray Sullins and Maggie Pearl Sullins (Brown); her sister, Deloris Jean Sullins; and her brother and his wife, Wayne and Shirley Sullins.

She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Collis, of Springfield, MO, and Gene Collis, of Nixa, MO; her sisters, Alice Sullins Misner, and Ruth Pile, both of Springfield, MO; her grandchildren, Ronnie and Daniel Collis; her great grandchildren, Briana and Cassie; and her great-great grandchildren, Anthony, Zoey, Miles, David, Natalie and Serena.

A funeral service will be held at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2024. A visitation is scheduled prior to the service at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, November 20, 2024. Interment will be at Hazelwood Cemetery.
