Obituary

Velma Jean (Walker) Bedell was born November 8, 1930 in Osceola, MO to Doris and Raymond Walker. She was one of six children.

Velma accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She later continued her walk with Christ in service with Herley, Jr. when they married October 31, 1950.

Velma enjoyed bowling and doing for others. She was always helping someone in need. Mama and Daddy's home was a place of many gatherings and always open to anyone. Her greatest passion was serving God and being a wife and mother.

Velma left in the arms of the Lord June 1, 2020 at 12:30 AM. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herley; three sisters, Cleona, Leona and Virginia; brother, Raymond; daughter, Victoria and foster son Garland.

She leaves to cherish her memory five children; Floyd (Dee Dee), Lorraine (Blaine), Herley, III, Larry and Kenny (Jamie); foster daughter, Marie (Ed); sister, Dorothy and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Velma was a caring and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, cousin and friend to many. She lived life for Jesus to the best of her abilities. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and knew her.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home. Funeral will be Friday, June 5 at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery.

There will be no repast due to Covid regulations.
