Vaneta Peters, 86, of Springfield, MO passed away at 2:30pm on March 4th, 2012 in her home. She was born December 6, 1925 to Glen and Rose Wildman, in Crane, MO. She was married November 9, 1945 to Owen Peters in Aurora, MO. They lived in San Francisco, CA until Owen completed his naval service in 1946. After the Navy, they lived in Michigan for a short time before returning to Crane, MO., their childhood hometown. They resided in Crane until 2002 when they moved to their current home in Springfield. She was a lifelong member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Crane, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents Glen and Rose Wildman, brother Sherman Wildman, and sister Verla Hilton. Vaneta is survived by her husband Owen Peters, Springfield, MO; Daughter Suzanne Hasler (Bill), Springfield, MO; Daughter Judy Hillman (Bob), Springfield, MO; Son Jerry Peters (Vonda) Tupelo, MS; Sister Wanda Robbins, Grand Blanc, MI; Grandchildren Kristi Hasler, Springfield, MO; Amy and Kane Wildforester, Springfield, MO; Billy and Jane Hasler, Branson, MO; Mark Peters, Tupelo, MS; Mary and Bud Hogan, Springfield, MO; Lori Hillman, Springfield, MO; Troy and Melissa Peters, Jackson, MS; and great-grandchildren Delaney Murrell, Blu Wildforester, Jack Haydon, Quaid and Emree Hasler, Jack and Nick Hogan. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 8 at 10am at Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel with the Reverend Gene Waite presiding. Visitation will follow the service.
