Tonia Jane Turner-Myers/Greenhill was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Brenda K. Turner Hicks and Tyree Lavell Myers. She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and guiding light to all who knew her. Tonia was a member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church, in Springfield, Missouri.

Tonia grew up in Buffalo, Missouri, where she attended Buffalo High School. During her school years, she was known as “Buffy the Buffalo,” serving as the cheerleading team’s mascot and bringing joy and school spirit to those around her.

After high school, Tonia continued her education at Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville, Arkansas, where she earned her associate’s degree. She later graduated from Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, earning her bachelor’s degree.

A talented entrepreneur and creative spirit, Tonia owned and operated Black Butterfly, Inc., a photography studio that reflected her artistic vision and passion for capturing life’s special moments.

Tonia loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed organizing events, cooking, entertaining family and friends, and making everyone feel welcome. Known for her impeccable sense of style, she was a true fashionista and glam girl who carried herself with confidence and grace.

Her radiant smile could light up any room, and her warm personality touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Tonia leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joseph Greenhill; beloved son, Sheppard Greenhill; step-father, Carl Hicks; and siblings, Tyree “Chuddy” Myers of California, Regina Myers of Mississippi, LaMonica Millsap-Gleas of Louisiana, Carol “Elizabeth” Worley of Missouri, and Derek Myers of Mississippi; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Tonia is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ma Catherine Hall Jefferson and Ruby Hitchcock, her parents, Tyree Myers and Brenda Hicks, and her special nephew, Arthel Ellijah Javon Harris.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
