IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tom
Gill
April 8, 1946 – November 19, 2022
Thomas Earl Gill was born in Kansas City, MO on April 8, 1946 and passed away November 19, 2022. He was the first RH baby to be saved in the K.C. area, therefore making him somewhat of a "miracle baby."
Born to Lawrence and Dorothy Gill, he was raised in Highlandville, MO and graduated from Spokane, MO High School, where he lettered all four years in track, softball and his favorite, basketball.
After high school and a short stint in college, he joined the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star, two Commendations and two Oak Leaf Clusters for Good Conduct plus all the overseas medals. After returning stateside, he was NCOIC at Ft. Leonard Wood. He later worked as Quality Control Supervisor at both Emerson Electric and Marathon Electric and was a realtor with Murney Assoc. before retiring.
Tom and Jan married on Nov. 23, 1984 and have enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending time at their home at Pomme De Terre Lake and socializing with their many friends there.
Tom joined the Elks Lodge in 1984 and the Masonic, Scottish Rite and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in 1991. He enjoyed being Cook Crew Chief for the Directors Staff until his health changed things. He tried to stay as active as possible at Pomme De Terre Shrine Club and served as Rajah and Raban of Hillbilly Clan 127.
Survivors include wife, Jan; son, Andrew Gill (Leeann) of California; brother, John Gill (Charlotte) of Springfield; stepsons Mike (Sally) and Mark McEvoy; four step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
As he requested, Tom was cremated. Masonic Services will be held at Pomme De Terre Shrine Club at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the PDTSC, 25307 Highway 254, Hermitage, MO 65668.
