Timothy "Woody" Woodworth, born May 18, 1969 in Norwalk, California, passed away Wednesday, August 29th surrounded by family and friends at the age of 49. Woody graduated from Niangua High School and completed his educational journey with a BS in Hotel Management and Restaurant Hospitality from Missouri State University where he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha, Chapter Beta PSI. Tim married Kimberly Trista Parsons on May 31, 1997. Their family soon grew with the birth of their children Madelyn Michelle and Charles Daniel V. A natural born salesman Tim worked in sales for more than 25 years while helping to run the family business Country Meadow Retirement Home for the elderly and disabled. He had a true passion for people and loved to make them laugh. He was actively involved in volunteering in Springfield for many years with the Boys and Girls club and a member of the Springfield Green County Park board Baseball Association. He began coaching little league baseball for the Park board before having children of his own and did so for twenty years. Tim was a generous, funny, fierce coach and competitor. Tim had a zest for life that shone through to all that knew him. Tim is survived by his two children Madelyn and Charlie, wife Kim and his sister Cheri Garcia and brother Charles Woodworth IV and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents Charles D. Woodworth, III and Minnie Cadena Woodworth.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Springfield Green County Park Board Baseball Program, in memory of Coach Tim Woodworth. The family is collecting written memories or stories to commemorate the life of Timothy Woodworth. Please bring them to the visitation.
Services for Tim will be held this coming Tuesday, September 4th from 5pm until 7pm, with services to follow at Schweitzer United Methodist Church.
