Obituary

John Timothy Osredker passed away December 7, 2023, at the age of 61. He was born September 17, 1962, in Springfield, MO, the fifth child of Kenneth (Ken) Norbert and Anna (Ann) Pearl. Tim grew up in Springfield and graduated from Parkview High School in 1980. He then attended Missouri State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1984.

He married Jane Kathleen (Kathy) Bodenhamer on September 29, 1989, and they made their first home in Kansas City, MO, where Tim worked for Farm & Home Savings and Loan Association as a compliance officer. During that time, Kathy worked as a flight attendant, and Tim often talked about how he could watch her fly in from his office window. Tim and Kathy traveled to many places together, such as Alaska, Hawaii, San Diego, and the beaches of South Carolina.

Tim also worked as a Sunday school teacher and ACT tutor in the Springfield area for over a decade. He had a talent for bringing out the best in his students and helped ensure bright futures through improved test scores. Tim was selfless and had a passion for helping people. He never knew a stranger. He was a friend to everyone. This love for his fellow man extended into his volunteer work for the Boy Scouts of America and Boys & Girls Club of Springfield. Tim was recognized by the Southern Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross as a 5+ gallon blood donor and was a registered tissue donor.

His father, Ken, shared with him and his brothers a love for trout fishing. Tim enjoyed fishing at Table Rock Lake and Bennett Springs throughout his childhood and adult life. Along with fishing, he enjoyed boating, hiking, and camping. Tim taught his passion for nature to his sons and daughter. He also enjoyed golfing, listening to music, and was a Kansas City Chiefs fan. He took his children, nieces, and nephews to many football games.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Tim is survived by his wife, Kathy, his sons, Kyle Timothy and Casey Elliot, his daughter, Allison, and his siblings, Kenny (Susan), Mike (Mary Beth), Gary (Deborah), and Debbie (Jerry).

The family wishes to thank staff at Mercy Hospital for their exemplary care and support of Tim and his family.
