Thomas H. Inman, 88, Springfield, MO
Died March 24, 2025. He was the son of Lewis and Thelma Inman.
Tom grew up on the family farm in Ballard County, KY.
After graduating from Ballard Memorial High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years as a helicopter crewman. Tom served two pacific deployments on the aircraft carriers USS Philippine Sea and the USS Kearsarge.
After being honorably discharged, he completed his education at Peabody College at Vanderbilt University (BS) and (MS) and Northern Illinois University (Ed.D). He spent his 37-year career teaching and in administration at Western Kentucky University, Arizona State University and M.S.U.
After retirement Tom and Andolene, wife of 66 years, enjoyed traveling in their motorhome for several years. He was an avid hunter and loved following his special bird dogs. Tom was an active member ad deacon at University Heights Baptist Church.
Tom is survived by his wife Andolene; two children, Jennifer (Steve) Howell, and Terry (Jennifer) Inman; grandson, Russ Soto; step-grandsons, Gregory and Johnathan Miller, and Dalton Howell; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
Visitation will be held at Gorman Scharpf Funeral Home on Sunday March 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Private interment April 1, 2025 at Missouri Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to University Heights Baptist Church, 1010 S. National Ave, Springfield, MO 65804 of The Humane Society of Southwest Missouri.
