Thomas J. Dickson, "Bopete" as everyone called him, 60, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019. He was born December 1, 1958 in East Prairie, MO, the son of Thomas Williams and Jimmie Lee Dickson. He was raised in East Prairie, MO and Mound City, IL. He accepted the Lord and was saved at an early age. He worked at CGB Grain in IL and worked on grain barges on the Mississippi River. He moved to Springfield in 1993 where he began working at Bingham Poultry Plant and later worked at Willow Brook Poultry Plant on Jefferson Street, where he worked on cook side. He loaded cooked meat on large shelves to be shipped out. His work days stopped when he suffered kidney failure from high blood pressure.

He loved cookouts and being around family and friends. He enjoyed music, especially blues and rap.

He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Williams and Jimmie Lee Dickson; brother, Wayne Williams and sister, Geraldine McElroy.

He is survived by 3 sons; Thomas, Denzel and Devonte; 4 daughters, Thomasina, Vetress, Talith and Jayterrle; wife, Claudette; 6 sisters, Lucille, Murray, Carolyn Holmes, Charlene Clark, Angela Dickson, Renae Coleman and Junetta Williams; 2 brothers, Donnie Dickson and Rodney Dickson; special uncle, Charles Dickson; nephew, Gary McElroy; nephew, Kevin Holmes; sister-in-law, Suzanne Jenkins, and a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2019 on Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel. A visitation will precede the service from noon to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow services in Weaver Cemetery, Ozark.
