Thomas Helm Baird IV, 48, of Springfield, MO, passed away on October 1 ^st after a valiant battle with Leukemia. Tom was born on May 6 ^th , 1972 to Mary Alice and Thomas Baird III in Springfield. After graduating from Glendale High School and Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, VA, he returned to Springfield and served as Youth Director of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church. After a few years, he joined the family business, Concrete Company of Springfield (Conco). On August 25, 1998, he married Brooke Roberts in Springfield.

Tom served his community as a member of the board of directors of Springfield Contractors Association, YMCA, Camp Wakonda, Concrete Promotional Council of the Ozarks, Greene County Planning and Zoning, Parent Teachers Association at Eugene Field Elementary, and volunteer fireman at Logan Rogersville Fire Protection District. He also sat on the board of directors of the National Redi-Mix Concrete Association and ConExpo/ConAg.

Tom enjoyed relaxing at the lake, flying his drones, and especially spending time with his wife and children. His character and integrity were demonstrated everyday through his love for life and putting the needs of others before his own.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jodie and Tom Baird; and his maternal grandparents, Mary and Carl Coble.

He is survived by his wife Brooke; his daughter Kaitlyn; his 2 sons Thomas and Tanner; his parents Mary Alice and Hal Grissum, and Jamie and Tom Baird III; his sister Allison Holiman; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 6 at 2:00pm at First and Calvary Presbyterian Church in Springfield. Private family burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the YMCA Camp Wakonda in his memory.
