Therese Charlotte Lachmund, 82 of Springfield, Missouri passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 in Manor Care Nursing Home. She was born in Springfield on March 27, 1928 to Charles Milo and Valentine Maurin Chamberlin. Therese graduated from Springfield Senior High and attended Southwest Missouri State College. She married Bob C. Lachmund on July 31, 1946 in Christ Episcopal Church where they were long time members. Bob preceded her in death on October 12, 1989. She was a member of the Elks Lodge # 409 Ladies Auxiliary and the Springfield Little Theater Guild. She always loved flowers and especially enjoyed going to lunch with friends. She and Bob were always interested in helping the less fortunate and others in need and working for the welfare of animals. She will always be remembered for her dry humor and smart wit. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Carol Catherine. She is survived by a niece, Robbie Roop and husband John, and a cousin Iris Moore and husband George, all of Springfield. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in Eastlawn Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
