Theodore H. Heidloff (Ted), PhD, age 75, died at his home on Saturday, May 6, 2023.  He was born to Theodore T. Heidloff and Frances Jean (Hudson) Heidloff on October 14, 1947 in Paris, Illinois and resided in Michigan, Illinois, Tennessee and Missouri throughout the course of his life.  Ted was a proud double graduate of Central Michigan University and also earned his doctorate from Michigan State University.  During his time at CMU, he was an active member of the Sigma Chi fraternity and these communities led to his career as the Director of Human Resources at several universities including Sangamon State University, Eastern Michigan University and Austin Peay State University.  He volunteered as a docent at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, served at the Ozark Food Harvest food bank and wrote a monthly newsletter showing his love of nature and wishes for simpler times and peace.

He was married to Mary (Gregoire) Heidloff for over 30 years and resided with his partner Jane Cargill for the last 13 years of his life.  Mary and Jane survive him along with his two sons, Theodore (Ted) J. Heidloff (Lauren) and John Paul Heidloff, both of Chicago; four grandchildren, Benjamin James, Corinne Marie, Matthew Gregoire and Martin John; and Jane's daughter, Jessica Bertholdi (Peterson) and her husband, Troy Bertholdi, both of Springfield, Missouri.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 1st from 5:00-8:00 at Harvest restaurant.  Gifts can be made in Ted's name to the Ozark Food Harvest.
