IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Teresa Mae
Price
September 6, 1953 – August 7, 2022
Teresa Mae Price passed away on August 7 th , 2022, after persevering through a decades long battle with cancer. Standing with her was her husband James Price, sister Cynthia Matthews and brother Sam Walker-Matthews. Her oldest brother Randy Matthews was there in spirit. Fortitude, strength, perseverance best describes this remarkable woman.
Over the course of her 68 years Terri, as she was fondly known, was an inspiration to all that knew her. Her strength and ability to overcome adversity carried her through times of great physical pain. Those around her constantly looked to her as an example of living life with dignity. She raised her son Jason to be a proud, compassionate, and strong man. Her legacy continues to live on through Jason and his daughters. Although her loss will be felt, all of those she touched and inspired will continue to keep her in our hearts as an example of how we should treat others.
Terri had great compassion for people. As a successful respiratory therapist, she provided loving care for her patients. For many years she was actively involved in her church, St Johns Episcopal. Her church family loved Terri and recognized their lives were richer with her presence. During her own battle with cancer, she cared for her first husband and mother-in-law during the end of their lives. Over the course of several years, she volunteered in multiple clinical trials for cancer treatment.
Terri loved spending time with her beautiful grandchildren, learning, watching the first snow, flowers, cooking, gardening, being outside, and being with her dogs. Her Christian Faith was unshakable. Terri had a true gift for interior design and provided help for anyone who needed her advice. A deep thinker, she engaged in respectful conversations even with those of different opinions. Terri was always an artist at heart; however, she chose the path of caring for others for her life's work.
Terri is survived by her husband Jim Price; siblings Randy Matthews and his wife Barb, Cindy Matthews, Sam Walker-Matthews and his wife Susan; son Jason Matthews and his wife Tanna Matthews; grandchildren Olivia Frances Dean Matthews, Jada Marie Dean Matthews, Valerie Mae Dean Matthews; stepson Matthew Price; and many loving nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father Warren Montgomery Matthews, mother Betty Mae Matthews (Ray), grandparents AZ and Delores Matthews, grandparents Gobel and Londa Ray, first husband Dana King, parents in law Danna SR and Melva King.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to The Cancer Society : https://donate3.cancer.org/ . The family will be holding a private ceremony in her honor.
