Tamara Kay (Mattocks) Woody, age 50, peacefully met her Lord Jesus Sunday, September 12, 2010, at home after a long, courageous battle with Cancer. Born May 1, 1960, in Ottumwa, IA, Tammy graduated from Willard High School in 1978 and married Ronnie M. Woody of Willard, MO, April 18, 1984. Tammy was a loving, devoted wife and mother. She and Ronnie raised two wonderful sons, Brandon M. and Brett E. Woody (Willard). Tammy was very committed to her faith, her family and community. She worked 21 years as an Administrative Assistant at Willard Middle School where she was known for her courage, great faith and spirited love for the students. Preceded in death by her father, Nolan E. Mattocks, Tammy is survived by her husband and sons; mother, Ms. Venita Joan Mattocks; sister, Teresa J. Dietrich, her husband and son, Gregory L. and Matthew G. Dietrich (Overland Park, KS); sister, Ms. Tracy Mattocks (Shawnee, KS); stepmother and sister, Mrs. Rita Mattocks (Willard, MO) and Ms. Tara Hout (Springfield, MO) The family wishes to express a deep gratitude to the Willard Community for the loving support and care given to the Woody family during these years. We know that angels sang sweet praises welcoming our sweet Tamara K. Woody home. Visitation from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 18 at Evergreen Church, 3225 N. FR 123, Springfield, MO. A Celebration Service to immediately follow at 1:00 pm under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, then burial at Clear Creek Cemetery.
